Our first build in this class is the SPIK3R SPIDER:  This six-legged creature doesn’t just look like a scorpion, it also acts like one. It turns sharply, snaps with it’s crushing claw, and it’s lightning tail is ready to fire at anyone or anything that gets in its way.

  • Teacher ratio: 9 to 1 (students divided into 3 per team)

  • Ages 10-13

  • 6 weeks for $120

  • See Registration Page for fall class dates

  • Sessions 1 and 2 will build and code different robots, so you can register for both.

  • With only three students per team, each student will have the opportunity for consistent building and coding experience.

Class Learning Objectives:

  • With instruction, build motorized EV3 models using the EV3 Intelligent Brick, a compact and powerful programmable computer that makes it possible to control motors and collect sensor feedback using the intuitive icon-based programming.

  • Develop essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

  • Students design and build programmable robots using high quality motors, sensors, gears, wheels, axles, and other technical components. By using hands-on robotics, students will gain a better understanding of how technology works in real world applications.
