Backgrounds & Pages

I'm happy to help!

Click the green circle below.

I'll be here from

9-10am & 3-4pm.

Changing your page's background is very easy and very fun.

Here's how:

  • Click anywhere on your page background

  • Choose CHANGE PAGE BACKGROUND

You have a choice between a solid color, a picture, or a video.  You can try out as many as you like, but for now, choose IMAGE.

Choose MEDIA FROM WIX. These images are free and there are SO many to choose from.  Some of the other images (like those from Shutterstock) have to be paid for.

You can scroll through the images or you can search.  Try searching for something like "colorful" and you will find a LOT of really great, beautiful images.

You can also filter your search to get illustations, patterns, or textures instead of photographs.

When you find an image you like, click on it and then click CHANGE BACKGROUND.

IMPRESSIVE!

Now you know how to change backgrounds! This is how my example page looks with the new background I chose. Next, you'll learn to add more pages to your site.

Add Pages

important info:

You website will have several pages (sometimes called tabs). The first page is always the Home page, where the reader begins. Pages help to break the website into smaller topics, kind of like chapters in a book.

Your website should have AT LEAST 3 pages, but you can add many more if you like.

Before you begin adding pages, you should know what their purposes will be. For this example, I am making a baking blog website, so my pages will be:

  1. Home

  2. Family Recipes

  3. My Creations

  4. About Me

Here's how to add a new page:

  1. Choose PAGE from the drop down menu in the upper left

  2. Choose MANAGE PAGES

  3. Choose ADD PAGE

  1. Rename your new page

  2. Choose DONE

Stop!

Take time now to add at LEAST 3+ more pages to your site.

For each page you add, change to a new background.

Celebrate!

You are doing such an incredible job!

Keep it up.

And remember to SAVE your work!

Woohooo!
